FRANCO-CHINESE WAR.
Paris, Sept, 11. M. Ferry was interviewed to-day by a newspaper correspondent with regard to the Franco-Chinese difficulty, i'lie report of the remarks which were made by M. Ferry proves that the statement published by " Le National " yesterday was entirely incorrect. The French Government does not propose to extend warlike operations in China beyond measures previously announced, and no change has occurred in Admiral Courbei's plans. The truth of the rumor that France would issue a formal declaration of war against China is also denied.
