No building' shall be licensed for any public perform--1 ance or other purpose until it has been inspected by the Works 1 Committee, or any officer,appointed by the Board, and approved, ? and all licensed buildings may be inspected by the Works - Committee or any officer appointed by the Board, from time to v time, and such alterations must be made as the Board may direct. The Works Committee or any officer appointed by the Board, , shall have access to all licensed buildings for the purpose of f inspecting the same. , . i 18. That no person within the Town District shall allow ' any nuisance arising from any cause whatsoever to ex : st on their , premises. * 20. No person shall willfully or negligently set, or cause ) to be set, on fire any chimney. s 21. No person shall be allowed to bathe within view of i any public place or thoroughfare unless properly attired, except- > incr at such places and under such regulations as the Town Board may from time to time appoint and adopt. 22. No person shall assemble in any street or public place : to the annoyance or obstruction of the public, or use obscene , 'anguage or otherwise be guilty of conduct calculated to give offence. 23. It shall be lawful for any police constable or any servant of the Board to take possession of any unregistered dog ■ found wandering at large in any street or private street within the said Town District, and to confine the same in a place appointed in that behalf by the Board ; and if the owner of such ■ dog shall not claim such dog within 48 hours after taking such possession, to destroy or sell the same. 1 24. No person having the charge of shall permit any bull, stallion, or other entire animal to cover within view of a street, whether public or private, or other public place w’ithin the Town > District. 25. No person shall make any cellar door, or other opening , from the footway, or any street or private street, without the consent of the Town Board. 26. Every person who shall exercise or carry on the business of hawker, pedlar, or any other trading person other than a ratepayer in the Town District, carrying to sell, or exposing for sale, any goods, wares or merchandise within the district, shall be required to take out a license ; such license shall be issued by the Clerk to any person on applying for the same, on the payment of, per annum, £1 Is for milk and vegetables; any goods, wares and merchandise £2 2s ; any such application to be in writing, and signed by any two ratepayers and by the applicant. 27. No person shall slaughter any cattle or other animal or animals within the Town District without first obtaining a slaughter-house license ; slaughter-houses to be subject to the provisions of the Public Health Act, 1876, and all amendments - thereof. The fees shall be as follows Not exceeding 1 large and 2 small cattle, £2 ; not exceeding 2 large and 20 small, £3 ; i exceeding that number, £5. The fees shall be payable forcv&iy ■ slaughter-house license, and in respect of every renewal thereof 28. Any 7 person offending against any of the provisions of these By-Laws, or committing any breach thereof, shall be liable to a penalty not exceeding five (5) pounds for every such offence, j.nd in every case after conviction has been obtained a further sum not exceeding forty (40) shillings for every day during which such offence shall continue unabated.
