CHRISTCHURCH MARKETS.
At the Addington Sale Yards on Wednesday last, light entries of stock were to hand for the day's supply. Buyers fairly numerous, but an absence of animation throughout. The entry of fat sheep was an average one in point of quality, the best of the crossbred wethers selling up to 18s per head ; crossbreed ewes from 12s to 15s; a draft of wonderful merino wethers fetched as high as 27s per head ; ordinary sorts from 8? to 13s Bd. With the exception of the pen of merinos just mentioned, sales were made at a reduction of about Is per head on late sales. In the) store sheep market a few lines of crossbred ewes in lamb were offered, meeting with but little enquiry. The pig market was only moderately supplied, lates values being quite upheld. The fat cattle market was about, an average one; demand but dull. Steers sold at from £5 15s to £6 10s ; heifers, £4 17s to £7, being from 17s 6d to 19s per 1001 b, i according to quality.
