The son of James Keith, eighteen months old, was accidentally drowned in Mangatawhiri Creek, Auckland. A man named Neil McLean had his leg broken and bead injured by the fall of some debris in Port Chalmers quarry. A man named Thompson, who was sapposed to have committed suicide by jumping from Tutakuri bridge (Auckland), about a fortnight ago, has been committed f»r trial on a charge of forgery. Who was the suicide is now unknown ; the body was never recovered. Edwards, tha Ormondville murderer, was executed on Tuesdaj 7 morning. He was apparently perfectly callous. He walked up the steps leading to the drop without indicating the slightest fear and stood under the gallows without a tremor in his limbs. As the clock struck eight the signal was given by the Sheriff, the bolt drawn, and death was instantaneous.
