TEMUKA TOWN BOARD.

A meeting of the above body was held yesterday afternoon. Present—Messrs Gray (Chairman. Blyth, Mason, snd Brown. MINUTES. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. , COBBESPONDENOS. A letter from the Temnka Road Board was read appointing the 16th inst for a special meeting to consider the question of division of funds. An application - was received for the lease of certain town reserves, bat the matter was allowed to remain over until next meeting. THE LAMPS. The following tenders opened for erecting 4 lamps:—Henry and Findlay, L2O ; W. Nichol, Ll 3 ; H. Hodgson, LI2 ; J. Ogilvie, L 9 15s. On the motion of Mr Brown seconded by Mr Blyth, it wag resolved to accept Mr Ogilvie’s tender for L2 9s each for 3 lamps. One to be placed at the Post Office, one at Twomey’s, corner, and another between the Wesleyan and English Churches. ovebsebe’s kepobt.

The Overseer’s report was read to the effect that Vine street wanted cleaning, and the rubbish taken out, large pipes put in, and the drain filled. The channels from Ewan’s road to the Post Office corner required cleaning and the hollows filled in with shingle. recommended that wooden crossings be done away with and good curbing fords to be put in their stead, the owners of properties to pay half cost. Wood street required shingling from the main sooth road to Vine street, and the side channels wanted cleaning. From the Presbyterian chnrch to the corner of Commerce street the channels wanted cleaning and the footpaths repaired. The side channels and footpaths in Commerce street required to be pnt in order.

It was resolved that the Clerk be instructed to employ the necessary labor.

Accounts to the amount of L 7 Is were passed for payment. The meeting then adjourned till next Thursday.
