ENGLISH MARKETS. London, June 21. Australian wheat cargoes, principally for Continental export, are averaging 40s 6d. MOUNT PEEL ROAD BOARD. The ordinary monthly meeting of the Mount Peel Road Board was held in the Rood Board office, Peel, Forest, on Friday, the 20th instant. Members present— Messrs G. J. Dennistoim, R. Mackay. and A. Hawdon. The Chairman not being present, Mr DennistouD was voted to the chair. CORRESPONDENCE. The minutes of the last meeting having been read and confirmed, the correspondence for the last month was read as follows : Fr»m the Hon. J. B. A. Acland, Chairman of the Board, requesting leave of absence during the session of Parliament. Resolved—' That the request be granted.' From the Geraldine Road Board, asking if the Board would rent their stonecrusher for the purpose of breaking metal on the Rangittta Station road ; and if io, upon what terms. Proposed by Mr Mackay, seconded by Mr Hawdon, and carried—'That the use of the stone-crusher be granted to the GeraMine Road Board for the purpose of breaking stones on the Ilangitata station road free of charge, upon condition that they guarantee to return it in the same order as when they get it.' From the Geraldine County Council, asking what amount the Bocrd would be prepared to contribute towards the cost of the construction of a stock bridge attached to the railway bridge over the Rangitata river.

Resolved— * That the consideration of the, matter be deferred, and that further information be' obtained as to the constructiorf of the bridge.' From C. M; Brooke, chemist, Kaiapoi, submitting price for poisoned wheat.—The Overseer was instructed to order eight bushels. V RESERVES. The Overseer was directed to have the trees in the plantation which had been InoseDed by the late heavy winds attended to. Resolved—' Thatthe Minister of Lands be written,to asking whether the Government had pome fp>i)y'decißfoo as to the Board's application-for hiring certain reserves vested in them.' _• ACCOUNTS. After passing account*, to the amount 6t £443"2s 9d, the Board adjourned.
