On the application of Conitable Willoughby the accused was remanded till Friday next, bail being accepted, himself in £SO and two sureties of £25 saeb.

Smith, LeCren, Cutten, Heap, Ogilvie, Clinch (2), Thomson, Blyth, Yelvin, Franks, Dyson, P. Thomson and Reid. All are requested to attend the practices every afternoon thie week. Motto iob thk Temcka Tows Boabd. —After the question of charging £aS a year as a fee for Hotel licenses was disposed of last evening, it was thought advisable to get a common teal for the Town Board. Some suggestions were thrown out as to the motto they should adopt, and someone suggested that the motto should be “ Wa live upon beer," that being the principal source of revenue. J

Two licenses were adjourned till Tuesday next. It was further decided that the premises of all bottle license-holders should be closed at ten o’clock also.

Diitbiot Court, Tihabu. —ln the District Court, Timaru, on Tuesday last, James Joe, Maurice Griffin, and James McCormick were adjudged bankrupts mv tbsir own petitions. In the civil case, John Pearson y. C. Brown, claim £22 0s 6d, judgement was given for £9 Os 6d, esnh party to pay their own costs. The esse of R. Turnbull and Son y. Henry L. Mr William Lewis offers £1 reward for the recovery of a bay 4-ysar-old mare lost on Ist June from Temuka. Mr W. S. Maslin will hold a sale of an express waggon and horses, etc., at his yards, Geraldine, on Monday next. “Adamastor ” publishes his consultation on the Melbourne Cup.
