TEMUKA TOWN BOARD ELECTION.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —Having heard there is a rumor to the effect that I am ineligible for a seat on the Town Board, I taka this opportunity of denying the report and asserting that I am as eligible as any of the candidates. If the ratepayers do me the honor of electing mo it will then be the time for any of those persons who are desirous of preventing my election to take the necessary steps to upset it if they are not satisfied that I have a legal right to sit as a commissioner. Knowing, sir, that you wish to do justice to all, I have no doubt but that you will insert this and oblige, yours truly, J. T. M. Hathurst. Green Hayes, Temuka, June 4, 1884. P.S. —Sines writing the above I have taken Mr AspinalTs opinion, which is that I am eligible.
