TEMUKA SCHOOL COMMITTEE.

The usual monthly meeting of the Temnka School Committee was held last Tuesday evening. Present Rev, D. Gordon (in the chair), Hayhurst, Miles, and Bolton. MINUTES. Strict average attendance: Boys. 148 ; girls, 104 ; total, 252, Working average : Boys, 149 ; girls, 108 ; total, 257. Highest attendance, on March 19 : Boys, 161; girls, 123 ; total, 284. He acknowledged the receipt of a ream of paper, arid asked to have the ga’lery removed to one of the infant classes The caretaker had asked for some dry firewood, and for a door to be made in the dividing fence near the lavatory. it was decided to get half a cord of firewood, and the question of the door was left to the visitors. From the Board of Education intimating that the' school was to be kept open on wet daj’sno matter how few attended, THE WATER. It having been reported that the janitor had found two dead cats in the drinking tanks it was resolved to have the lids locked. Messrs Blyth and Hayhurst were appointed visitors for the ensuing month. The meeting then adjourned.
