It has transpired that the .English Government has submitted to the Governments of the various European Powers, for their approval, a proposal for the solution of the present financial difficulties of Egypt. The matters offered for considerations include a suggestion for the disbandment ot the native army now maintainou in thatcountry.
A telegram is to bond from Cairo, sta'.ing that a rumor has been circulated at isouakim that Khartoum ha* fallen into the bauds of the rebels, and that Geaeral Gordon is a prisoner in their hands,
