THE WAR IN THE SOUDAN.
Cairo, April 5. Intelligence has been received from Kassala, a town in the Soudan, near the frontier of Abyssinia, that the Egyptian garrison there is in a critical position, and the Governor of the town has applied to the British for aid.
April 7. Disputes have arisen between Nubar Pasha, President of the Council, and Clifford Llojd, Under-Secretary for Home Affairs in the Egyptian Ministry, and the questions at issue have been referred to the English Government for decision,

Nubar Pasha has resigned the Presidency of the Council ot Ministers.
Latest news from Sonakim states that numbers of hostile tribes in that neighborhood are now treating for peace. It is reported that Osman Digna has left the district and gone to Kordofan, on the western border of the Soudan,
Intelligence is to hand that the tribes inhabiting the country between Shendy and Berber are now in open rebellion, and the movement, it is feared, is spreading. Communication with Khartoum is closed, and it is further feared that Berber and Dongolo are both invested by large forces of hostile Arabs,
