GERALDINE COUNTY COUNCIL. NOTICE OF IN TENTION TO MAKE SPECIAL RATE. "VTOTIOE IS HEREBY GIVEN that tli e Geraldine County Council intend BORROWING the sum of TWO THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED AND THIRTY-EIGHT POUNDS (£2938) under “The Roads and Bridges Construction Act, 1882,” for the purpose of Re-constructing the old portion of the Opihi Bridge, which is estimated to cost £2938. The amount of the yearly repayments on the above loan by the Council is £264 8s sd, and the Special Rate to be made and levied will amount to One Tenth of a F arthing in the £ on the capital value of the County as per Ratepayers’ Roll of 1883. Plans, Specifications and detailed Estimates of the cost of such proposed work, may be seen at the Office of the Council during ordinary businessjhours. A POLL of the County Ratepayers will bo taken on the above proposal in the manner provided by “The Regulation of Local Elections Act, 1876," on FRIDAY, April 4th, 1884, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. The following are the Polling Places : Office of Geraldine County Council, Tiraaru Levels Road Board Office, Point Temuka Road Board Office Winchester Mechanics’ Institute Geraldine Road Board Office, Woodbury Schoolroom.
