WOODBURY SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
The ordinary monthly meeting of the Committee was held on Monday evening last. Present Messrs Dean (Chairman), Flatman, Webb, WaJlow, Cooling, Cormack, and J. McKenzie. The minutes of the previous ordinary and special meetings were read and confirmed. Proposed by Mr Webb, seconded by Mr Cormack and carried —“ That the schoolroom be insured in the South British Office by their agent, Mr Flatman, for the sum of £4OO. Proposed by Mr Webb, seconded by Mr Wadlow and carried—“ That a letter be sent to the Board of Education informing them of the serious damage done by the late gale, and asking the Board to send out their architect to inspect the said damage to the building and plantations in order that he may lay the probable cost of repair before that body ; also requesting that the books and documents belonging to the Committee be returned as early as possible as it is impossible to pay the outstanding accounts until cheque book, etc., be returned by the Secretary to the Board.” A large amount of correspondence was then read and considered. Resolved—“ That the accounts to hand be forwarded to the Board and when returned be paid at once.” Mr Cooling was appointed visitor for 1 the ensuing month.
The meeting then adjourned till Monday, April 7th next.
