The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, have received the following London telegram, dated 12th February, 1881 :—Wool— The sales opened on the 12tb inst., at scarcely the level of last sales. Up to date 315,000 bales have arrived ; 49,000 bales have been sent to the manufacturing districts direct. The opening catalogue contained 9000 bales, and was i fairly representative one, Competition by both home and foreign buyers is fairly active. The market is easier for medium and inferior combing washed.
