On the case of Siegert and Fauvel v. David Taylor being called on, Mr White announcedthat he appeared for the prosecution and Mr Hamersley said that he appeared for the defendant. Judgment was given to the effect that the defendant pay 7s 6d per week for the first month and 10s a week from that out, or in default fourteen days’ imprisonment, John Cooper v. Thos, Parke—Claim L 5 17s 4d. Aset off of L 4 11a 2d was put in. The plaintiff did not admit the setoff. It was at the special invitation of the defendant that be had meals at bis house. The plaintiff’s son stated that when they went to work at defendant’s he invited them to atay and said a few meals here or there would not make much difference. He (witness) stayed a good deal at the defendant V house. The defendant was then examined with regard to the set-off 1 . He did not tell them he would charge them, but he could not keep them for 8£ weeks for nothing. To plaintiff: I sent you a cheque in February last. I thought everything was squared up then.
