Messrs Maclean and report for tlie past week ending Saturday at follows ; lloi ■ses—Their entry to-day o f 46 head consisted principally of light harness horses and hacks of medium quality, for which there was a fair demand. Several good draughts were passed in unsold, there being few buyers present. They quote draughts up to LBS ; light harness and hacks, best sorts Ll 6 to Ll 9, inferior anu medium L 5 to LIO,
Cattle—At the Washdyke yards on Monday there was a large entry of stores, a large portion of which changed hands at prices showing a slight improvement on late sales. They sold 161 head on account of Messrs McGroverin and Hardie, W. Grant, M. Lynch, Capps, Muleaster, R, Davie, M. Grant, Geaney, and others, viz,—ls head at L 5, 26 at L2 10s, 14 at L2, 10 at L 4,14 at L2 19s, 4at L 4, 7at L 4 11s, 8 at L2 i7s 6d, 7 at L2 Is, 3at L 4 15s, 10 at L 4 7s 6d, 6 at L2 12s, 5 at 245, ,7 fat at L 7 to' Lb ss, 30 head at from 17s to L 3 10s. Beef sold at equal to 25s per lOUlbs. Sheep—Their entry on Monday was 9 small one, ami sold as follows On account of Mr W. Grant—s 3 merino wethers at 13s, 60 crossbreds (shorn) at 15s ; on account of Mr Perry—so crossbred ewes at 15s Sd, Store sheep are enquired for. They have no sales to report during the week, but have transactions pending.

The attention ot the farming community being largely devoted to the attractions ot the week, more especially the Agricultural Show, which promises to he a grand success, has precluded the possibility of treating in grain to any large extern. Quotations unaltered. Wheat-Sound milling, 3s 9d to 4s per bushel, delivered at" Christchurch ; second quality, 3s 3d to 3s 6d ; chick wheat, is IGd to 2s 3d per bushel; Oats—Prime milling, 2s Id to 2s 2d per bushel, f,o.b. ; bright short feed, Is lid to 2s ; inferior and discolored, Is 8d to Is lOd per bushel.
Barley-First-class malting, 4s 3d to 4s 6d per bushel, very Htt e offering ; second quality, 3s 6tl to 3s 8d per bushel, teed Is lid to 2s 2d.
Grass Seed—F. rulers’ samples, 3s 3d to 3-< fid per bushel ; m.ichinedressed, of extra qurlity, up to 4s 3d per bushel ; cocksfoot, 4£d tu 3|d per lb.
Potatoes —25s to 27s 6d at country
stations.
Cnpese and Buttpr—to 5d for the former, and 6<l f o 7d for the latter, kegs extra.
