An extensive and disastrous conflagration occurred in the lotrer part of the city at a late hour last night. The fire

commenced in the Chinese quarter, Lower George street, and spread rapidly among the buildings. It destroyed two Chinese warehouses and the premises occupied by Doynon and Co., crockery warehousemen, and Mi'Chell, Frances and Co.’s ship chandlers. The coffee palace is also much damaged. The total loss is estimated at £20,000, part of which ts covered by insurance.
