GERALDINE SCHOOL COMMITTEE.

The usual monthly meeting was held at the school, Geraldine, on Thursday evening last. Present —■ Messrs R, S, Cook (Chairman), W, O, Andrews, N, Dunlop, C. B. Sherratt, A Sherratt and W. Skiers. The minutes of last meeting were reid and confirmed, Mr A, Sherratt reported having engaged the Oddfellows’ Hall for the distribution of prizes to the children on the 22nd inst., which was approved ; the hall rent to be paid out of the school fund. Mr O, E. Sherratt, Visitor for the past month, reported that he found everything working very satisfactorily, Accounts for £5 6s lOd were passed for payment. The Caretaker tendered her resignation, and wished to be relieved of the duties within one month from date. Resolved— ‘ That the resignation be accepted, and tenders called for a new Caretaker.’ Messrs Shiers and Mundjll were appointed the Visitors for the ensuing months. This closed the business, and the Chairman tendered his resignation as a member of the Committee. Resolved— ‘ That Mr Cook’s resignation be accepted with regret, and Mr A. Sherratt be appointed Chairraan for the remaining term.’ Resolved— ‘ That the next highest unelscted candidate at the last annual election be appointed in Mr Cook’s plaie, and if he does not accept, then the next one to him.’ The meeting then adjourned.
