Carter’s jeweller’s shop in Collins street wjs broken into and robbed during last night. Goods to the value of £2OOO are missing. No arrests have yet been made. A warrant has been issued for the arrest of John Black, an employee of the Oriental Bank, who is charged with embezzling £IOOO in various sums. The full amount of the deficiencies is believed to be more than £IOOO, Black has not yet been arrested.
