THE GERALDINE SCHOOL CONCERT.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—l have just seen in your issue of this morning a notice of the above-men-tioned entertainment, I do not know who your correspondent is, but he has misled you in a point or two. It was not Miss Young, but Miss Alice Fish, who presided at the piano, the former lady accompanying the Misses Fish in their songs —and playing the overtures -as well as singing the songs you mention. Also, as some of the performers were mentioned ly name, it would have been fair not to omit the same courtesy to others, and I may i i form you that the Misses Boswell and Scroggio gave a duet, and Mis* Boswell a solo ;and that Miss Andrews, after singing a solo entitled ‘ The Three Fishers’ received an encore to which she responded by repeating the last verse of the song.— 1 am, etc., Justice. Geraldine. 27th March, 1883, [The report of the concert was given to us in Temuka by a gentleman from Geraldine, it was given from memory and no doubt the mistakes occurred in that way. We are much obliged to our correspondent for calling our attention to the errors which obviously were unintentional—Ed, T.L.]
