The informer Carey has explained that Brady was stabbing Mr Bourke when Lord Frederick Cavendish interfered, and Brady turned on him and hacked him to death, afterwards turning and finishing Mr Bourke, after which he wiped the knife on the grass. The other assassins were armed with revolvers. Cards were sent to three Dublin papers, stating that in the assassination they had executed the direction of the ‘Just and Invincible.’ Carey has implicated his own brother in the crime. The Land League is supplying prison money for the benefit of the prisoners in gaol.

Sheridan, who is stated to have negotiated the alleged “ Kilmainham treaty ” between Mr Gladstone and Mr Parnell, and by which the imprisoned Irish members obtained their liberty, has been implicated in the operations of the Assassins Committee by the evidence of informers in the trial of the Phoenix Park murder case.
At the Dublin Police Court to-daj’’, the prisoners who are under arrest on a charge of the assassination of Lord Frederick Cavendish and Mr Bourke in Phoenix Park, have been committed for trial.
The Ohio river is receding, but the Mississippi is still dangerous, and it is probable that the whole of the Mississippi Valley will be flooded. Local agitation has risen in favor of Portsmouth being appointed as a port of call for the mail steamers.
It is reported that the Powers have decided to surrender Russia the full control of Kilia, a fortified town on the left bank of the river Danube, and about twenty-five miles north-east of Ismail.

The Press generally demands that the duels of the Irish Land League shall clear up the grave suspicion which now rest upon them owing to the recent disclosures. Carey, in re-examination, stated that the murder of Mr Bourke was decided upon after the appearance of a certain article in the Dublin Freeman’s Journal. Nineteen prisoners have now been committed for participation in the Phoenix Park and Field assassinations.

The Government Bill providing for an affirmation in lieu of an oath, at the option of the members upon taking their seats in the House of Commons, was introduced in the House of Commons yesterday.
The Tories support Mr Gorst’s amendment, but the Government refrain from any intention to purchase support.
In connection with the disclosures made regarding the Phoenix Park assassins, a number ot the newspapers denounce Mr Parnell’s silence on the matter.
Mr Forster has been received with enthusiasm by the House of Commons. Bombay, Feb. ID.
“ Major ” Tucker and eighteen ol the Salvation Army, who were parading the streets, have been arrested here.
Paris, Feb. 19,
M. Jules Ferry has been summoned by President Grevy and requested to undertake the formation of a Cabinet. He has accepted the charge, and is now engaged in forming a Ministry. Cairo, Feb. IS.
Five Bedouins have been found guilty of the murder of Professor Palmer and Messrs Gill and Charrington in October last and sentenced to death. Five others will be executed as soon as they are caught.
