It has transpired that instructions have been sent to Sir Henry Buiwer, Governor of Natal, to reinstate Ceie-wayo-as King of the Zulu tribes at the earliest opportunity. At the wool auction to-day 10,000 bal<:s were offered. Fine qualities are firmer. Since the opening of the present series 861)0 bales have been withdrawn. The Daily Telegraph says the honor of baronetcy conferred on the Hon W. T. Clark:}, marks a step in the direction of the federation of the Empire, The Rev. G. W. Kinnon has been consecrated to the Episcopate of Adelaide. The ceremony was performed with great solemnity in Westminter Abbey, by the Right Rev. the Bishop of London, acting as representative His Grace the Archbishop of Canterbury, who was too ill to be present. The Bishops oi Winchester, Rochester, Durham, and Lichfield, the Right Rev Bishop Sutter (Bishop of Nelson, New Zealand), and the Right Rev Samuel Thornton (Bishop of BalJarat) assisted in the ceremony. The sermon was preached by the Rev Dr Gott, of Leeds. Archbishop Tait is in a state of coma. A gunboat has been sent to Madagascar to protect British interests and to enquire into the French demands. Dec. 1. The latest report announces that Dr Tait is now expiring, and all hopes of his recovery have been abandoned. The Rhine is falling, but the damage done by the overflow is estimated at millions, and there are thousands of people thrown into distressed circumstances. At to-day's wool sale 5700 bales were offered. Prices ware somewhat firmer. Dec. 2. The catalogue at to-day's wool sale comprised 8400 bales. The firm prices of yesterday were maintained to-day, The Right Hon Henry Fawcett, Posraaster-General, is seriously indisposed, and his condition is now considered critical. Anthony' Trollope has suffered a severe relapse, and is in a dangerous state of health. 2.33 p.m. The wool sales catalogue comprised 89,090 bales, of which 9800 were withdrawn. Good, bulky merinos and best cross-breds met with support at previous values, but inferior greasy merino suffered a reduction of from to Id, while coarse cross-breds were Id and inferior scoured 2d lower. In the House of Commons Mr Gladstone's proposals for the appointment of Grand Committees to deal with the subjects of law and commerce have been carried by way of experiment. Constantinople, Dec. 1. A new Turkish Ministry has been formed under Ahmed Vepfek Pasha as Grand Vizier. Safvet Pasha has been appointed Foreign Minister, and Husde Pasha Minister of War. The tendencies of the new Ministry are decidedly Anglophile.
