PARISHIONERS' MEETING.
A meeting of the nif-mbers of St. Saviour's Church wms hold last evening, to considei the advisability of asking the Bishop to reconsider his decision with regard to the removal of the R'-v. Mr Welsh from the parish. The following resolutions were carried : On the motion of Mr Inwood, seconded by Mr Harrop, it was 'esolved—'That the parish deeply regret to hear of the probable removal of the Rev Mr Welsh, and wish to place on record their opinion that the parish would not meet with fair treatment by the removal of their Incumbent against the wishes of the parishioners.' On the motion of Mr Harrop, seconded by Mr Wills, it was resolved—' That the Chairman be asked to forward a letter to the Bishop embodying the above resolution, and respectfully requesting him reconsider his decision.'
Mr Wills moved, and Mr Proudlock seconded—' Thar the Chairman of this meeting, and Messrs Deßenzie, Wills, Macintosh, and Ensor be appointed to act as a Committee to draft a memorial to his Lordship the Bishop, requesting him to reconsider hi-! ■''-■cision in reference to the removal of the Rev Mr Welsh from this parish ; the same memorial to be signed by as many parishioners as possible, and presented by the abovenamed Committee to his Lordship on his approaching visit to Temuka." The meeting tevmimited with the usual vote of thanks to the Chairman. A full report will appear in our next issue.
