A DYNAMITE ACCIDENT.
A frightful dynamite accident occurred on die JUi inst. at Dathanga, Alhury. The Ago nq orts that an old man, named Charts Baker, his son .lames Baker, an 1 Isaac Carter were working on the night s ift in a quartz claim. The dynamite bring cold, it became necessary to warm it. This i.s u.siniily done with hot watrr, hut for so no reason the water was omitted, and the dynamite bung :n a b: liy over the forge lire. It is supposed that a spark from the. huge ignited the material. Anyhow an explosion occurred, Charles Baker sustained severe wounds about the head, and had an ear blown aw; v ; James Baker’s Ht eye was destroyed, and he was also seriously injured in the arms, ribs, and stomach, the bowels being exposed ; Carter sustained over IUO wounds in ihe leg and thigh, whiciu [■resent all the appearance of being ri M!ed with successive discharges rf shot. Ail the three men w.re lodged O * in the AUmry hospital. A man named James Birch, who was Joining to bring the men into Albury, had his head cut open by a limb of a tree failing on him.
