Tbmuka —Monday, March 20,1882. [Before J. Beswick, Esq, R.M.] ASSAULT. The charge of assault preferred against a man named Bevington, and partly heard before the Justices of the Peace last Monday, was further remanded for a weekCIVIL CASES M. Q'linn v. J. Roddick- Claim £65. This ease, which was heard about a month ago and decision reserved, was adjudicated upon. His Worship considered that the defendant was a trespasser on the land and gave Judgment for the plaintiff for the amount claimed or the return of the quantity of grain taken from him. He at the same time said that the defendant was entitled to some consideration for the labor he had expended on sowing the c op. Cummmg and Hayes y. W. Hussey— Claim £3 2s 6J. Judgment by default for amount clamed and costs. Peter Coin v. J, Thompson —Claim £7 7s, Judgment summons. Adjourned for one month. Klee v. Judgment by default for the amount claimed and costs, J. Brown v. Meredith—Claim £lO 4s, Judgment for the plaintiff for the amount claimed and costs. W. Ackroyd v. W. March—Chum £l3 9s 6d. Judgment by default for the amount claimed and costs. J Brown v. W. Murch—Claim £24 6. Judgment by default for the amount claimed and costs, Garston v. W. Essery—Claim £2 4s 2d. Mr White, who appeared for the defendant,asked the case to be adjourned,as the summons was only served last Saturday evening. The case was accordingly adjourned.
