(Per Press Association.), Webtpobt, Feb. 28. In the libel case Denniston v. Wright of the Bulb'r News, the defendant has apologised, and the case has beer withdrawn, Gkeymouth, Feb. 23. The quantity of gold shipped per s.s. Albambra today was—Bank of New Zealand, 8826rzs ; National Bank ol New Zealand, 17230zs ; Chinese, 170ozs ; total, 57190z5. Christchueoh, Feb. 23. Two hnndred and fifty pictures have been secured in Europe for the Art Gallery. The witness Scott was before the Court today, and the Judges announced that they should report him to the Speaker of the House of Representatives as guilty of a currupt practice. Counsel applied for a certificate of indemnity under the clause of the Act providing that " A witness who answers all questions when he is required by the Election Court to answer, shall be entitled to receive a certificate of indemnity stating that such witness has eo answered." The certificate was granted.
