The remainder is being landed. The meat is considered to have been badly prepared for shipment, Adelaide wheat, ex warehouse, has declined to 555. New Zealand ditto remains at 535, and Adelaide flour, ex warehouse, 48s. Paris, Feb. 6. An agreement was signed today by M, Freycinet, the French Premier, and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and by Lord Lyons, the British Ambassador at Pan's, for prolonging the present AngloFrench Commercial Treaty until March Ist. Washington, Feb. 6, The application, of Guiteau's counsel for a new trial has been refused, and sentence has been passed upon him. He is to be hanged on the 30th. Cairo, Feb. 6. Mahommed Pasha., the new President of the Egyptian Council of paid a visit today to the British Repre-i sentative, Sir E. B. Malet. «.—, NEW ZEALAND. (Per Press Association.) Auckland, Feb. 6. An Auckland Gas Company has declared a dividend of 16 per cent. The discount has been increased to 20 per cent, making the prjee of gas cash eight shillings per thousand feet. At the half-yearly meeting of the Bay of Islands Coal Company a dividend of 10 per cent was declared. Mr Firth and Dr Campbell were re-elected directors.
