A HINT FROM TEXAS.

A Manchester clerk who lately emigrated to Texas writes home that there is only one drawback to the enjoyment of that cl.arming country. In the part where he has tstablished his household gods tsot a single place of worship of any kind exists within a radius of 40 miles. As that is rather too far for even a Texan to ride to church, the settlers have hit upon a novel way of having their spiritual affairs attended to. Once a year they all gather together at a camp meeting, and for three days religious services go on from early morning until late into the night. On the morning of the fourth day tents are struck, and the assembly disperses to the four points of the compass, greatly comforted by the conviction that enough spiritual provender lias been laid jn to last for another vear.
