WAITOHI-POST-OFFICE.
After the business in connection with the election of a Committee for the Waitohi school had terminated it was, on the motion of Mr Currie, decided to hold a public meeting, for the purpose of considering; a change lately suade in the local Post-office, which is now kept, ah the seho.plhouse, Mr Mahan having been appointed post-master vice Mr Liston, resigned.. After some discussion, by which it appeared that a general feeling of dissatisfaction prevailed in consequence of the new arrangements, Mr Currie proposed, and Mr! Seaton seconded—“ That the meeting considers the change lately made, whereby the Post-office is kept at the school-house instead of at the store, very undesirable, the position being unsuitable and otherwise objectionable.” Carried unanimously. Mr Carrie then proposed, and Mr Mr Wightman seconded -“That the Chairman write to the Chief Post-master, and point out more fully the reason why the change is objected to, and to ask him to. again revert it back to Mr Cunningham’s (late Liston’s) store ; and also, forward the previous resolution.’’
