THE END OF THE WORLD.

The year which terminated last Saturday night was, accordiogto Mother Shipton's prophecy, cr the prophecy attributed to her, the year in which the world was to have come to an end, and we congratulate our readers rn having escaped that terrible calamity. We must, however remind our readers that the danger is not yet passed. On a marble slab at Obereminel, in Germany, is this inscription : Quando Marcus Pascha dabit, Et Antphius Pentocostem celebrabit, Et Joannes Christum adorabit, Totns mundus vae ! Hamabit : which means, when Easter shall fall on St Mark's Day (April 25), Pentecost on St Anthony's Day (June 18), and Corpus Domini on St. John's Day (June 24), on the days named all the wall cry woe. In the year 1866 the above feasts will fall on the 3ays named. The following is attributed to Michael Noslradamus, born December 14, 1502, died at Salon, June 24,156$ :

•' Quand Georges Dieu cruciferca. Que Marc le resauscitera, Et que Saint Jean le portera, I.** fin du monde arrivera." That is. when Good Friday shall fall on St George's Day (April 23), Easter on St. Mark's Day (April 25), and Corpos Domini on £e. John's Day (June 24), the world will come to,an end. In 1,86,0. these three feasts wil be celebrated on these days. According to these prophecies we have, at least, a little time yet to prepare for the. great event.
