THE ROMAN CATHOLIC CLOCK.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—l had hoped that when the long expectant clock had arrived and erected in the tower of St. Joseph's Church, we should never thereafter be at a loss to tell the time. But Ijfiqd, Sir, that now it ia unfait accompli, it is not all that could be desired. In the first place the : dial is too small to be easily distinguishable othe:; than at a short distance from the tower of the Church. Yet eveu this detici ncy could be remedied if (he hours struck and the quarters chimed- in a p oper manner. Any ordinirv individual who has been--ac-customed to. hear this at Home, cannot but be set wondering why the hour strikes ere the quarters are finished chiming, as is the case here It both confuses and' perplexes on©-, and I wodd respectfully suggest to t'>e rev. gentleman—who has been so indefatigable throughout in orderthat an efficient clock might- be erected in our midst,.that would be a credit.to the townsbip—thtt the d feet- Lhave poiuted out should be remedied.—l. am Ac.-, A, Resident.
