According to official returns, there are 1050 lons of priniing paper alone annually imported into this Colony, at a cost of over £250,000, and to this must be added other kinds of paper to more than double that amount. It is therefore evident, that there L ample scope f..r the projected undertaking 8. It is contemplated importing the very best machinery procurable, tire probable cost of which, inchulin,; necessary buildings, will amount to £15,000. 9. The following local advantages have influenced the promot rs in choosing Temuka as the site of the projected Mill, viz : (a) Connection with the railway hy sidinc, and close proximity to the Port of Tinii.ru. (b.) An unlimited supply of pure water, free from iron and other deleterious matter. (c.) Cheap and abundant supply of raw material. 10. The Promoters after mature consideration and careful invest igarion, have no hesitation in placing this scheme before the public, and soliciting their co-operation, in the full ] assurance that the enterprise will be a boon to the colony at large aud a profitable investment to the Shareholders. 11. Furthermore, it is hardly necessary to point, out the many advantages which will accrue fiom an industry of this land, such as the utilisation of materials now wasted, employment of labor, the circulation of caj itai, ami the establishment of kindred industries which is sure to follow in the wake of that now projected.
