In the land tfto shafts have been sunk. The main, or working shaft is 9ft by sft wide, and is 32ft deep, from which coal has been raised from a seam 2ft thick. The shaft is timbered from the surface. The other shaft referred to (half a chain from the main shaft) is 7ft by 4ft wide and 45ft de -p, and is well timbered, and has been through two seams of coal of sft and 4ft r -pectively on to a 2ft 6in seam. As this coal is admitted to be a really good coal for steaming purposes, it is proposed to have constant supplies in depots, so that the üblic can always get what they may raquire.
