The profits are to be devoted to the public library. Blenheim, June 20. A telegram from Havelock, reports that Peter Gome was drowned in a creek at the foot of Totara Hill on his way to Nelson on Saturday night. The body has been recovered. Dunedin, J une 20. A fire occurred in the upper part of Gilchrist’* paperbanging shop. He estimates his loss, through damage by water, at £IOOO. He is insured for £SOOO in the National, Victoria, Standard, South British, and New Zealand offices.
