TEMUKA PARK BOARD.

The usual monthly meeting of then Board was held on Thursday evening ,lastMEMBEBS PRESENTS Present —Messrs Wilson (chairman) S.L D. Barker, K.. F. Gray, and J, Meyers. MINUTES. The minutes of the last meeting were; read and confirmed. FUNDS FOR THE BOARD. The Chairman reported the result of his application to the Geraldine County,' Council re funds for allocation to the various Park Boards in-the County. Mr Gray considered that the only waythe Government could, assist the ParkBoard was to set reserves apart for thepurpose, so that a revenue might be derived therefrom and to>arrive at that end it would be a. very good thing for a representative from each Board to hold a. meeting for that purpose. 9 Proposed by Mr Gray, seconded by Mr • Meyers and carried—“ That the Chairman, enter into communication with other Domain Boards in the Geraldine County, for the purpose of holding a meeting at an early date in Timam of representatives from such Boards for the purpose of devising means for the maintenance of public parks in the County of Geraldine.” CARETAKER’S. REPORT. The caretaker’s report for the past month was read and approved of. Park nursery. Some conversation took place as to theadvisability of forming a nursery iu the.Park, so that the Board would not in future have to expend money in; purchas-i----ing.trees etc. Proposed by Mi Gray, seconded by,* MrBarker and carried—“ That the Hangers, for the ensuing mouth select a piece of land in the Park fort he purpose of. forming a nursery and have the same prepared, for planting seedlings.” PLANTING WILLOWS. Proposed by Mr Barker, seconded.' by Mr Gray and- earned—* ‘ That a large quantity of osiers be planted iu the lowswampy ground and especially by the side of the river." trespass in pursuit, of game. Proposed by Mr Gray, seconded by MuMeyers and carried—“ That the caretaker be instructed to report to the Board the name of any person he may find shooting, within the Park as the Board intend to prosecute any person so offending.” HOUR OF MEETINGS. Proposed by Mr Barker, seconded by Mr Meyers and carried— “ That the hour of meeting be changed from the evening to 3.30 in the afternoon.” RANGERS FOR MONTH. Messrs Meyers and Barker were appointed Raugeis for the ensuing month. A vote of thanks to the Chairman terminated the meeting.
