GAMBLING DENS IN SPAIN.
The Governor of Madrid, pursuing the repression of the gambling-houses, recently organised an energetic surprise of a sumptuously furnished den, styled the Jockey Club and Conversation Booms, with" such success that the roulette was siezed, with the money, cards, and thirtytwo gamblers, who vainly attempted to hide under the tables, and some were discovered in the most ludicrous hidingplaces, but were marched off by couples between tnll military prison. Ainong them was the honorary president of the club, a' nobleman of rank. The Madrid papers say that this happened in broad daylight at five o'clock in the afternoon, in a busy street near 1 the Pu?rta del Sol, much to the amusement of the crowd.
