ENGLISH AND FOREIGN. London, April 28. In the House of Commons to-day, Lord John Manners, on behalf of the Conservative party, gave notice of a motion declaring that the Bill to be introduced by Mr Labouchere to enable Mr Bradlaugh to take an oath, would only produce further confusion, without arriving at a settlement of the question, The Catholic Hierarchy in Ireland demand material alterations in the Irish Land Bill now before the House. They denounce the provisions of the measure generally, but particularly the providing for grants to tacilitate emigration . In the House of Commons to-day the Irish Land Bill was under consideration but the debate was further adjourned. April 29. The Right Hon W. E. Gladstone has given notice in the House of Commons that he will on Monday next ask for leave to introduce a Bill to amend the form of oath of allegiance to be taken by members. April 30. Her Majesty the Queen paid a visit to-day to HugUenden Manor, the residence"of the late Earl Beaconsfield, and viewed His Lordship's grave.

There has been an alarming increase of smallpox in London of late. A great

many deaths have recently occurred from the disease. The Radical members of the House of Commons are strongly opposed to the proposal by the Premier, that funds be voted for the erection of a monument to the late Earl Beaconsfield in Westminister Abbey. A second sculling match took place to-day between Edward Trickett and the oarsman Kirby, resulting in another easy victory for Trickett. Paris, April 28.

It has transpired that the commander of the French troops in Tunis has received orders to march against the capital, and a force is therefore advancing with the utmost speed.
