ASH BURTON INDUSTRIAL EXHIBITION.

The local Mail states that the three tents intended as annexes to the main Exhibition in the Town Hall, have been trected, and goods are rapidly arriving. The upper room will be devoted to the New Zealand pictures,, jewellery, coins, and articles of vertu, and in the main hall will be placed all the n;ore delicate and perishable exhibits. One tent will be devoted to carriages, harness, etc., another to produce, aud a third to ironmonger}-, paints, etc. The pictures are very numerous, both in the iriain hall, ante-rooms, and upper rooms, and also in the covered passage leadiug from the entrance. The stage is to be made beautiful with choice collections of pot plants and .drapery, and the musical instruments are also to be placed there. A triumphal arch will bo erected over the side entrance and the passage leading to the inside door will be decorated with flags and ornamented with greenery. No doubt the committee will have a very busy time of it arranging the exhibits as they arrive. The tickets for admittance to the opening-'ceremony are being rapidly sold, and unless early application is made many will be disappointed, as only a limited number will be issued. Ladies are to be allowed the privilege of au eotranco to the gallery before the. Governor arrives, will "save them any uncomfortable crush. The great fear now seems to be that the space will be insufficient, so numerous and varied are the exhibits that are eutered. -*■""
