«. TEMUKA CIVILIANS v. TEMUKA VOLUNTEERS. A return match between the above-was played on Saturday last in the Park. The day was remarkably fine, and there was a considerably larger number of visitorson the ground. We noticed one decided improvement in the shape of a tent for the use of the scorers, which proved to be of great convenience. The play throughout was decidedly in favor of the Volunteers, but this may be partly accounted for through the absence of several good plnyers on the Civilians' side. Mr T. M. Ollivier captained the latter, and Mr J. M. Ollivier the former team, the umpires b> ing Messrs John Pateraon and P. Coini. The following were the scores attained : Civilians. First Innings.
