RIFLE MATCH.
A rifle match between eight members of the No 1 Temuka Rifle Volunteers and a like number of the Timuru Artillery came off on Thursday morning, at ihe Otipun Butts. The teams were under the command ot Captain Young and Captain Hamersley respectively. The conditions were—2oo ard 300 yards, six shots at each range. The Artillery won the match by 20 points. Volunteer Smith . made the top score for Temuka, and Gunner Waugh for Timaru. We append the scores : TEMUKA RIFLES.
Total 216 A return match was fired in the afternoon, and resulted in a victory for the Temuka Rifles by 14 points. A match was also fired between Captain Hamersley and Captain Young, and was won by the former
