Melbourne, Dec. 15. The sugar market here has an improving tendency. The Age to-day, commenting on the want of confidence motion proposed by Dr Smith, says Mr Berry was perilously near suffering defeat. Arrived —P. and 0. Company’s steamer Siam with inward Suez mails dated London, November sth. In the Legislative Assembly Sir Sir Bryan O’Loghlen has abondoned his Judicature Bill, which, therefore, lies in abeyance, Dec. 16. Arrived—Union Company’s steamer Arawata, from Bluff. It is expected that an animated discussion will take place on the Reform Bill. Sydney, Dec. 15. Parliament was opened by Commission at noon to-day. The were of a formal character and without interest. The Governor’s speech will be delivered to-morrow.
