The weather is uu-ettled, and it is feared it will be wet to-morrow for the Cup. , A conference of delegates of the Australian Colonies on the Border Duties, and Chinese questions will commence, its sittings here on the 25th. L^ter. Arrived—Union Company’s steamer Rot mrahann, from Bluff. Lord Lisgar has been scratched for. the Gup, and Mata is now backed at 7 to 1. The weather is fine, and there is every likelihood of it continuing so. Arrived—P. and O. Company’s steamship Rosetta,with the Suez mail. The weather this morning is beautiful, and there is every prospect of its remaining fine. The Totalisator Bill has been rejected in the Council. Sydney, Nov. 2. A fire occurred last night at tho Redfern railway terminus, which caused the. destruction of a large oil store and did other damage. Sailed—Wakatipu, for Wellington, on Saturday. The Wallsend Co-operative Mission, mines have struck, and others threaten to do so. They receive back pay in, accordance with the recent arbitration.
