The latter had invested Mafesting in large force, when the Cape Rifles’ under Carrington, made a desperate attack and succeeded in competely dispersing them. Calcutta, Oct. 18. News has been received from Afghanistan that in accordance with instructions from India, Knrurn Valley has been evacuated by the troops which were stationed there.
