BKfiACH OP THE LICENSING ACT'
Leonard Toombs was charged with having kept his house open after 11 o'clock at night. Mr Haromersley, for defendant, said an extension of time had been granted, but no notice had been given to the police. His Worship held that under the Licensing Act, 1874, it was not necessary that the police 6hould have notice, and dismissed the case.
CIVIL CASES.
G. Lever v. John Dear—Claim, Ll Os. Judgment for 7s costs, the amount of claim having being pai j since seryice of summons.
T. Swinton v. P. Murphy—Clainv-L2 16. Judgment summons. Ordered to pay tiie amount within fourteen days, or, in default, two weeks imprisonment. A Waddell v. J. A. Gammock— CI urn LBB. Mr Austin, for plaintiff, stated that the case had been withdrawn. Mr Wtivi . defend-nt, applied for costs. His Worship granted solicitor's iee, L 3 Bs.
