MOUNT PEEL ROAD BOARD.
The ordinary monthly meeting of this Board was held in the Road Board office, Peel Forest, on Friday, the 18th inst. MEMBERS PRESENT. The Hon J. B. A. Acland (Chairman), and Messrs R. Mackay, C. G. Tripp, and J. Hency, MINUTES. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. TENDERS. Tlie following correspondence was re'>d and considered : From Messrs Harper, Hirper and S'ott, with reference to agreement with Mr J. L. Wilson re breaking metal. From the Union Bank of Australia, Timaru, informing the Board that L2DOO of fixed deposits had been taken up and placed to current account. From Mr R. Cartwright and others, requesting the Board form the road up ta tlie Opuha river bed.

DIRECTIONS TO OVERSEER. The Overseer was directed to look cut a gravel pit at Tripp's Pass and apply for a reserve ; to see Mr Milton about the road leading on to Burke's flat ; repair the fence on the sidling cutting in Peel Forest ; to lay off a line of road through sections 19992 and 30633, to connect the road leading up the Cattle Valley with the road in the Middle Valley on the Rain cliff run ; to lay off a line of road through section 24306, to conn ct the road in section 7446, and to call tenders for forming the same Tenders to be called also for the following works ; (1) Forming the road up the Opuha river bed ; (2) forming a bridle 'rack to Forest Creek and over the Orari saddle : (3) forming the road on Mr Tripp's downs, Orari; (4) shingliug the road in PeelForast; (5) cuttings on Upper Rangitata road ; (6) forming the road near raincliff; (7) ploughing gravel reserves ; (8) purchase of crop of turnips on reserve at Road Board office MISCELLANEOUS. . The Clerk was directed to write to Mr J. Morriss, asking what progress has been made in compiling the new map of the district, and when it will be completed. Permission was grante to Mr J. L. Wilson to cut and remove firewood from the road reserve in Mount Peel Forest for fuel while stone breaking. After passing accounts to the amonnt of LBO4 9s £ d, the Board adjourned.
