HORRIBLE TREATMENT OF CHIL IAN LADIES.
A correspondent, of an English paper writing At Pisagua, on sth December says that Chilian ladies in Peru have been subject to the most infamous trea'ment. At Callao several ladies were taken to the puMic square, g'ripped naked,' ravished, and afterwards made to sing the Peruvian national anthem in a state of nudit/. The Lima paprs approved greatly of t'ie conduct of the people ol Callao, and similar scenes followed in the Peruvian Capital. The Peruvians did not even respect the wives of foreigners. One of them Senora Loyala, wife of Captain Plainer, was r~~ wounded, and many of the Chilian ladies in Peru have died from the brutal treat- • tnent they received. ' One was brought fromVValparaiso out of her mind. An .v was afterwards proclaimed ordering alt the Chilian ladies to leave Peru '. within twenty-four hours. About 150 I \i(t Lima, the o hers having no means of getting away. Those that were left wereVnost brutally treated, being stored and tli'rashed with sticks.
