S.O.J.C. MEETING. FIRST DAY. The first,day’s racing of the above was held on Thursday last, but the bad weather. and slippery state of the course added nnr-h to debar tin* proceedings, and the few snectators who w<-ro on the grand stand and grounds seemed to be down in the dumps. On the ground we no need several games of chance, um'cycle There was also a .lady tight-rojle walker » resent who went through some very amazing feats ; but owing to the rope giving way, she felt, fortunately without injury. At about 1 o’clock the races commenced, the following being the results ;
