TEMUKA BRASS BAND.

""TL moeting of this band took place at the Royal Hotel, Temuka, on Wednesday, the 18th inst, about 15 members being present. Mr Rutland in the chair. The minutes of the three previous meetings being read and confirmed, a code of rules for the working of the band were then submitted, read, and adopted. In answer to a question Mr Fauvel said lie had applied to the School Committee for use of school for practice, but had not yet received an answer. The Treasurer reported the funds in hand amounted te L 26, and with what was in collectors' bands would make the amount about L3O Rule No 2— That members pay L2 10s, within 2 weeks, was rescinded CORRESPONDENCE. Letters from Messrs G. R. West, and A. R. Kilsey and Co., Dunedin, and Messrs Milner and Thompson, Christchurch, re instruments, terms, etc., were then read, and it was unanimously resolved that the instruments be purchased from Messrs A. 11. Kilsey and Co., their conditions being the most suitablo for the band. Resolved, f ' That the Secretary (Mi' Uurichard) ;n 1 fho ban imaster proceed to Duuediu, and select the instruments, and that a cheque be given to pay for first instalment on same." Mr F. Mead was duly elected a member of the band. The meeting then terminated.
