Journalistic—A new weekly paper is to be issued in Dtmedin at the end of next week. It will appear under the name of The Echo, will be edited by Mr Robert Stout, and published by MrgW. Smith, of George street. Its politics will be, as may be imngined, Liberal, and its principles, as may be also imagined, Freethinking. Indeed, in name, and size, and tone it will be a resuscitation of the Echo which gained some fame under Mr Stout's guidance some years ago in this city. Entertainment—The English Opera Bouffe and Comedy Company will perform again in the Volunteer Hall,Teinnka, this evening, when we hope to seo a full house, which this talented company really deserve. Lady Cork —Lady Cork was a person of extraordinary power for making herself comfortable. She was in the habit of thinking she might do anything that it pleased her to do. She would invite a number of guests to dinner at a friend's bouse before telling her friend of the pleasure in store for him, and she would make use of a friend's carriage without even asking for permission. One day, on leaving a breakfast-parly, she claimed a carriage in this way, told the footman tha t she took it by his mistress's orders, kept it out the whole afternoon, and then on meeting the owner, who had been put to great inconvenience by the loss of her carriage and footman, exclaimed : " I wish you would have the steps of your carriage altered. It's a most comfortable earring-, except that those high steps dou't at al' suit my short legs."
