OIERA BOUFFE AND COMEDY COMPANY.
On Monday evening last wo had ihc pleawnro of witnessing, without donb!, the best oniortaimnout that has been ~i"on in Teiuuka for a lemg lime pas!. The coir.pay is formed of such good material that it is bound to do well wherever it goes. It incudes ihe names of Mdile. Minielle, sopivno. Mr T. B. Browning, tlio eminent basso, Mr (Bothers, tenor, Mr Fisher, buffo and comedian actor. Tiic curtain rose to ibe “.Bose of Auvergne,” a sparkling - opereita by OlFcnlkch, in which Mdile Murielie, Mr Browning anl Mr C rot hors took ’part. Mdile MuiF-lle possesses a magnificent soprano voice, which she uses with great taste and power we have never heard excelled, and she is not only a star voo dist but a thorough actress also. Mr Browning introduced the “ Village Blacksmith;” and, later on, with Mr Croliters, a duet from “ GirotleGirofla,” which fairly brought down ih’e house. The first-mentioned gentleman we consider to be u,ie of the finest bass singers ever beard in the colonies. The comic duet between Mdile Mmielle. an 1 Mr Fisher, iu ihe second p: rf., was brim full of fin. Tin “ Desert”’was rendered by Mr Browning in a truly grand manner, cud Millie Muriello’s rendition of “Tell ni j rny Heart,” was simply exquisite. Mr Fisher wound up the second part with some completely new comic business that kept die audience in roars of laughter for some time We be ievo this gentleman con id extract laugblcr from an imago. The euici tainment concluded with a sparkling bur'ett.i, entitled the “Soldier’s Bearn,” which gave great satisfaction to nil. The co npany have been requested to give another performance hero next Saturday night, wilh a complete change of programme. Ti< kets rn y be purchased at ■Mr liiiiTOn’s store, Mr Brewer, saddler, at the office of this paper, and at the principal hotels and stores. We can strongly advise ad to go and S' O them, as if they fad to do so, they will blame themselves very much for having missed a treat, which we seldom, if ever, have the opportunity of witnessing inTenuiha.
